ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT FOUNDATION WELCOMES 1,800TH MEMBER AT BROOKHAVEN AT TOWN

Last week, the Palm Coast / Flagler Foundation for the Arts and Entertainment, Inc. enrolled its 1,800th member, furthering the strong community and area support that has been demonstrated over the past four years since the non-profit organization was founded. Kristeen Carney, who resides in St. Augustine and is the Sales Manager for the new Brookhaven Condominium community in Town Center, contributed her dues for a Supporting Membership after being reminded about the Foundation via the advertising for the Foundations April 26-27 Music in the Air/Picnic and Pops event held in Central Park in the new Town Center at Palm Coast. She had originally become aware of the PCFFAE plans through last falls article in the addendum to the Florida Real Estate Journal.

Kristeen stated I am originally from New York City and have been involved in the Arts throughout my lifetime. I have a BA in Theater from Vassar and am a former professional actress. My writer/producer father had his own record label with one of his most notable achievements being the top ten recording of Faraway Star by The Chordettes. My two sisters, Kathleen and Kolleen, and I also recorded professionally as The 3K Theory.

She added I am very excited that an Arts and Entertainment venue of this caliber is to be become a reality so close to the Brookhaven community. Your dream of a world class A&E Center matches the cutting edge quality of our ranch condominiums. I believe that the new residents of our Town Center community will want to become members of the PCFFAE. I look forward to the Foundations plans being integrated with all that is happening in the new heart of Palm Coast. Brookhaven will host a Wine & Cheese with the A&E on Thursday, June 5 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm that will assist in the Foundations membership campaign and allow people to become more aware of the ongoing development in Town Center. Call Glenn or Joan Grube at 437-9715 for reservations.

This membership milestone provides the impetus for the Foundations campaign to reach a goal of three thousand members by the end of 2009. The leaders of the Foundation plan to have over two thousand members by the end of this year. Foundation President Joseph Ganci stated We know that the first big donation with the naming rights to the Arts and Entertainment Center or a major membership challenge grant will be the impetus that will encourage hundreds more arts supporters to join in support of our plans to fund, build and operate a world class Arts Center in the Town Center at Palm Coast. We know that our presentations to organizations and individuals and our presence at dozens of events have made thousands of local residents aware of our plans.

Ganci continued, Despite the difficult economic time that is affecting many of the traditional high level supporters of the Arts  developers, financial institutions, large corporations, Arts foundations, governmental cultural support programs and individuals with the ability to and interest in providing substantial gifts to the Arts we continue to demonstrate through our membership growth and our outreach to the community that there is a strong need, solid support and desire for a world class Arts and Entertainment Center in Palm Coast/Flagler County. Our dream of providing a venue that reflects the great quality of life found in our area remains as clear as crystal.

Members are again encouraged to arrange to have speakers from the Foundation make presentations at meetings of any organization to which they belong. Coffee and Tea with the A&E events, hosted by members in their homes or community clubhouses for friends, relatives and neighbors are also being scheduled as host volunteers step forward. Over ninety presentations have been made over the past three years.

PCFFAE FINDS OFFICE SPACE AT BROOKHAVEN AT TOWN CENTER

OFFICE SPACE - A lease has been approved for PCFFAE office space at the BROOKHAVEN CONDOMINIUM complex in Town Center. Thanks to the foresightedness of Sales Manager Kristeen Carney and the same foresightedness and generosity of Developer Michael Ely, a much needed home for the Foundation has been secured. A GRAND OPENING of this office/home for the PCFFAE is being planned for mid- to late July. Details to follow. A committee has been informally established to determine the layout of the space available and to furnish/outfit our new home."

This is a giant step forward.....and now we need to furnish this beautiful five room/two car garage unit so we can move our organizational and membership activities to Town Center. We seek donations of furnishings and equipment for our new home/office/storage space. We will consider purchasing some items if necessary. We need: conference tables and chairs; reception room furniture; secretarial desks and chairs; file cabinets; bookcases; storage shelves; computers; printers; a copier; comfortable furniture for a reception area; thirty matching chairs for a presentations room; and anything else that will help us make this a functional home for the Foundation.
